Targeting Pages for On-site Surveys
Targeting pages lets you control where your on-site survey appears on your store.
You can choose to show surveys on all pages or only on specific high-intent pages.
Common Pages You Can Target
Product Detail Pages (PDPs)
Show surveys on product pages to understand:
  • Purchase hesitation
  • Missing information
  • Pricing or size concerns
How to target
  • URL contains /products
  • URL starts with /products/
    Best use case

“What’s stopping you from buying this product?”

Cart Page
Show surveys on the cart page to capture:
  • Drop-off reasons
  • Price or shipping concerns
  • Last-minute objections
How to target
  • URL equals /cart
  • RL ends with /cart
Best use case
  • “What made you hesitate before checkout?”
Homepage
Show surveys on the homepage to understand:
  • First impression
  • Navigation clarity

Visitor intent

How to target
  • URL equals /
    URL equals homepage URL
Best use case
  • “What are you looking for today?”
Specific URLs
Target exact pages like:
  • Landing pages
  • Campaign pages
  • Blog posts
  • Collections
How to target
  • URL equals a specific page
  • URL contains part of the URL
Best use case
  • Campaign or promotion feedback
Excluding Pages (Recommended)
Even when targeting multiple pages, it’s best to exclude certain URLs, such as:
  • Checkout pages
  • Account / login pages
  • Order status or thank-you pages
This prevents disruption during sensitive flows.
Best Practices
  • Start with PDPs or Cart for high-impact insights
  • Keep surveys short on high-intent pages
  • Combine page targeting with:
    • Exit intent
    • Time on page
    • Traffic coverage limits
  • Always test targeting in an incognito window
If you want, I can also:
  • Add ready-to-use URL rules
  • Create example setups (PDP vs Cart vs Homepage)
  • Provide a QA checklist for page targeting
